Can any one tell me from experience what to expect to pay for an L24 Short Block Rebuild? Using my own block (no core charge), standard rebuild, no extras, nothing fancy, just a good solid short block rebuild. I'd add the timing stuff and head, and install in the car.

but i know jasper engines sells the complete engine for liek 1675 or 1775 with a 3 year warranty. they will also deliver to your door.

I copied this from my rebuild spreadsheet-

Gasket set $79.95

Piston Ring Set, Std $39.95

Main Bearing, Std $49.95

Rod Bearing, Std $39.95

Oil seal, timing cover $4.95

Oil seal, rear main $8.95

These are just parts. Since I made a list of the parts, I've decided to add new rod and main bolts but haven't entered them yet so I dont have a price for those. Add this to the price of tanking/machining and assembly if you can't do it yourself. All shops charge different for machining but I expect to pay about $1000 total for the short block.

just did it on an L28. About $250 in parts, $150 to get the block cleaned/honed at a local shop here in Texas...

So about $400 if you have all the tools and books already and do it yourself.
