footballnick17 Posted August 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2017 So I got a 240z and the engine was seized, I took it apart and now I have a 280z engine block/head all parts are in there and it's unseized, can I use all the other parts from my 240z engine like carbs and intake or are they not compatible with the head. Thanks Nick Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
footballnick17 Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted August 23, 2017 It would be nice to also mention any other problems I would have by switching the head and blockSent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
Zed Head Posted August 23, 2017 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2017 The parts will all work together. It's a common swap. The 240Z exhaust manifold might not be the best for the L28 head, use the L28 exhaust manifold.

Zed Head Posted August 23, 2017 Share #5 Posted August 23, 2017 Good luck. Is the L24 engine out of the car now or are you still planning? How complete is the L28 engine?

How complete is the L28 engine?Yes L24 is out and in pieces, the L28 is just the block, head and oil pan, everything else will come from my L24Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
footballnick17 Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted August 23, 2017 That is the L28 engine Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
Zed Head Posted August 23, 2017 Share #8 Posted August 23, 2017 Looks like the L28 might need a lot of work before it's ready to install. The core plug in the back of the head has been removed, and I'd guess the head has been off for some reason, since it's not green. Kind of looks like somebody put the head back on the block just to save space, or make a sale.

footballnick17 Posted August 23, 2017 Author Share #11 Posted August 23, 2017 Is it worth getting, the guy is selling it for 400$ Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
Zed Head Posted August 23, 2017 Share #12 Posted August 23, 2017 I wouldn't buy it. It's missing many parts. It's been taken apart and slapped back together. There's a lot of risk there, the engine needs to be torn down and checked out, unless you really know and trust the guy selling it, and trust his skills also. Looks like a nightmare, even without the horrible green paint..
