Oh wait, yeah I would pass on it too.  I didn't realize the head core plug was missing too.  I was looking at the block one next to the oil filter.  That looks like the rubber expanding plug.

In your first post, you mentioned you have another 280z motor, plus the 240z motor that was seized?  Or was the 280z motor the one your thinking on buying?

Did you take your 240 motor out and dissemble yet?  You know why it was seized?

I have to ask, but it wasn't in gear when you were checking it out right? :)

There are a few Canadians here on the forum like @wheee!.  They might be able to point to some Z clubs in your part of the continent. Also might know where parts/engines are.  I'm sure they will chime in at some point.

Yes the 240 motor is out and disassembled, it was seized because it sat for 30 years without running, but indoors, I think there was also a head gasket leak so coolant got into the cylinders a rotted away.

Quebec is a ways away from Alberta, bien sure....

@grannyknot  might know of some solutions closer to la belle province!

He says he also has some blocks with the head still on, with pistons rods etc, that are in much better shape.

You'd be better off finding a complete engine... There is a thread on here called awakening the beast, or something like that,   It's all about reviving an engine that has been idle for a very long time.  Do a search.
