I've got a few hornet stories.  I definitely have a opinion of them.......  Good luck with the eradication.

Oh my! So how many hornets are in a typical nest? How do you exterminate before chopping it down?

That's amazing. You'd be weed eating that fence line and agitate them, they'd hit you like a .22.

A friend outside his  bedroom window when we were kids. His Dad drank a bottle of something with a cork. When he finished off the whiskey or wine he stuck that cork in the hole that night. Sprayed it with some type poly or varnish and hung it and the limb in his office. It was real cool back then, I haven't seen one since. Early 80s?

Man... Seeing that thing up close and personal like that makes my skin crawl. Must be an primordial instinctive thing.

If you're positive sure it's completely total unequivocally dead, you might want to cut it open? The internal construction is pretty fascinating.

it is totally dead. i used 3 cans of spray on it yesterday, and 1 on it today to get the remaining hornets. if i had to guess, i would say there might be 100-150 adults in that nest based on what i saw going in and out.

 

 

Now that  is a trophy!

I wonder what sort of thing we could build with a years worth of spit?

One heck of a shine? A huge ball?

Hmmm,  After eating a bunch of Oreo's  it would be the human version of a 3D printer.  The possibilities are endless, or until you run out of Oreos........
