June 27, 20195 yr comment_578455 Congrats! Does your face hurt from that constant SMILE as you're going through the gears? ? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58542-home-built-z-full-video-build/?&page=57#findComment-578455 Share on other sites
June 27, 20195 yr comment_578457 Jeff, Congrats on getting it registered!!!. Now the real fun begins. There is nothing like the roar of a triple carbbied L-6. Do you ever intend to take it to a track day? That is where you car really get a feel for what these cars are capable of. They are just shear joy to drive hard on a track. Enjoy!! June 27, 20195 yr comment_578475 Bless you on the shingles! I've had that, no fun at all! Getting the rails adjusted properly in the doors is a big part of the window regulators and not overly worn or broken parts. The car sounds good and I didn't hear any worrisome noises. June 28, 20195 yr Author comment_578498 Good to know it all sounds normal. I just took it on it's first spirited shakedown run and it is such a blast to drive. The steering is pretty twitchy at high speed on the dodgy country roads, but the tramlining is to be expected with the width of the wheels and the camber it has. Overall, I love it ? June 28, 20195 yr comment_578501 Jeff, That gear stick looks awfully, er, long.... (said the actress to the bishop). Is it in fact from a Skyline, like your steering wheel? July 13, 20195 yr Author comment_579487 It was a long build, but my Datsun 240z affectionately know as the 680g is done. Here is the whole build from start to finish. July 17, 20195 yr Author comment_579794 This is my 3rd attempt at repairing my dash and hopefully the last. This time I have a go at flocking. July 18, 20195 yr comment_579860 I had flashbacks, Jeff! Flocking is a lot harder than all the other YouTube videos make it look (three tries for me until the results were "good enough"). Sorry to hear that you'll need to sell the Z to fund the other projects.
