Aren't PO's wonderful?!!?

So any pics of the MLV bonding process? Is that something you did, or did you send the carpets out to have it done?

I could pull it up. But super easy. It’s just cut back 1/2” from the edge and sewn on the bottom. It keeps the carpets from moving as well.

I got my AC system basically back in.  Sanden 508 compressor mated to a 83 280zx compressor bracket.  Took some machined parts and adjustments, but the bracket works well and tucks awesome against the motor.  Also re-zinc'd the pulley and bolts.  Half of the hoses are new.  Four Seasons 33280 Filter Drier is a perfect match for my dealer installed ac, I powder coated the bracket and also got stainless hose hangers. The dryer is the exact diameter and the same hose barbs!  I was going to run r12, but the compressor is setup for 134A.  So without changing the oil in the compressor and potentially harming it, I might as well run the gas it's setup for.  Only issue is the evaporator might not be good enough for the newer gas heat exchange.  But time will tell.

Belt is Napa 25 7325 which is a 10mm wide x 840mm belt.  Fits perfectly.

So working on my air cleaner. I want to powder coat it. I ordered every single orange I could find from prismatic powders.  Like 30 shades.

Hemi orange is almost correct or flag orange. Both are super close. Hemi matches the older paint, then flag is closer on the inside areas, I will go with flag.

It's easy to get yourself into a tailspin with a handful of paint samples. I think either of those would work out just fine.

I suspect the original paints have all darkened a little over time, so picking the slightly lighter of the two is probably perfect.

I believe I will pick flag orange.  It matches other inside areas better.

Working on a Nikki fuel pump for my series 1.

My 240z didn’t come with the original fuel pump.

Bought this one on eBay and also a nos one from Datsun 500 for 30$. The plan is to use the screws and all the rubber gaskets and internals. It’s a little more haggered then I would have wanted. Hopefully it comes out nice. The internals of the pumps are identical.

I will vapor blast the 240z Nikki body and it should look brand new. I am using this write up for guidance.
