April 4, 20204 yr comment_596320 FYI: You can shim that spring with washers to increase oil pressure. 2 washers work nice. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58568-duffys-171-series-1-240z-build/?&page=51#findComment-596320 Share on other sites
April 6, 20204 yr Author comment_596509 Well it runs, but terrible. I have a massive vac leak, either from my balance bar not sealing or maybe a throttle body wasn't bolted down correctly. Even with throttle plates in the full closed position it runs happily at 900 rpms. So it's getting a ton of air from somewhere. April 18, 20204 yr Author comment_597380 Well we finally got a block that passed sonic testing. It took 4 to get one that can handle the 88.5 pistons. N42 for the win! Thanks Andrew Kazanis! It’s going to be a sweet motor. May 13, 20204 yr Author comment_599376 3.2L engine parts arrived from Rebello today! JE Pistons, Eagle rods and king race bearings. Rod bearing clearances are spot on. Marine Crank did a fanstatic machining job on my extra long stroke LD crank. It requires you have a diesel crank to offset grind and a block that will go to at least 89mm - I believe. Thats the way mine is anyway . You can pair is with any head with any compression - that’s a matter of preference . I think he can make a 3.0 out of any L28 block and crank . To get the extra .2 required a longer stroke . I sent my diesel crankshaft and a N42 block and $$$ and I got back all the ingredients to put one together . Rebello preps the block and crank - custom pistons and all bearings .
