240z I was gonna ask the same question. However I removed these on my 240z with no problems. The problem was nobody could supply me with the lower A arm bushings to install and this was on my Roadworthy list.

I ended up just replacing the rubber circular item that goes over the pin and between the nut and washer. He didn't even know that I didn't replace them and I sure as hell wasn't gonna do it given that a RW check must be done again in 7 days.

I did attempt to remove these at a junk yard once and out of the 4 I didn't get more than 1 out. I guess I was just lucky I lubed them back up to install them again.

Try using the nut over the end as ben mentioned and give a good whack with a heavy hammer try not to damage it however and u did remove the pin halfway at the bottom didn't u?

I'll give it another go, but it will be a while. Leaving town this weekend & will be back late the week afterwards, so it might be 2-3 weeks before I give it another shot. I whaled on it pretty good before, so a rest break is probably a good thing. The lock pin is definitely out. Thanks for the advice.

Before you leave, soak it as much as possible with a good penetrating oil. Who knows, it might loosen it up enough to remove it when you get back. Be sure to put as much as possible in the hole the lock pin came out of so that it soaks into the center of the pin.

What would be really nice is if you could find a long shallow pan that it would fit into that you could let it soak in penetrating fluid while you are away....:devious:
