I bought a vinyl kit and the tunnel piece does not seem fit well. I am not sure if I missing something or maybe it's built wrong. But the slot for console fastening is in the wrong location. I could adjust but the slot would appear that it would show. Or does the console cover it regardless?

Are there some post on this site with the order that the pieces go in?

The vinyl should pull up to the end of the tunnel.  That is sewn incorrectly.  Fit your console over it to check, but I think you could cut a hole in it to fit the bracket.

What he said.  For reference, this is my OE vinyl as it was going back into the car.

The console mounting bracket is different on early series I
& II cars vs later 72 - 73 cars. I can't tell from the photo which car you have but this vinyl is for the other.
Your console should hide it!

No the console doesn't hide it, wished it did. Those pics look more accurate. Guessing I will need to do some modification to it.. thank you

Interesting, I didn't even know there was Jute under the vinyl. Is this still available?

Yes, extra to be trimmed.  Those pics are of initial fitting.
