October 21, 20177 yr comment_532858 Did you open the door and look on the door plate? It's right by the seat and the door striker. Edited October 21, 20177 yr by JSM Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58773-i-dont-know-the-year-of-my-240z/#findComment-532858 Share on other sites

October 21, 20177 yr comment_532871 My 12/71, I think build date, is in the 69,000 vins so I bet its a '72. Front bumper is a dead give away. '73s have a further out bumper with a strip between the bumper and the car. The'73 front bumper mounts have a rolled piece where '72s and younger are flat. Google image search it and see the dif France. October 21, 20177 yr comment_532875 Before '73 front bumper mounts, not very bumperie but closer to the body for a shorter and more tucked in looking car. The carbs are the most disliked thing about '73s. You can find the good ones still. Some people like the flat tops, @Captain Obvious Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58773-i-dont-know-the-year-of-my-240z/#findComment-532875 Share on other sites
October 21, 20177 yr comment_532876 If it's been sitting since the '80s don't try and crank it right off the bat. There's a lot of info on cranking an older car. Google "waking the sleeping beast classiczcars.com" and read that. It's a good starting point but they're easier work arounds. Mostly run the fuel suction off the filter before the pump out of a gas can bypassing the cruddy gas tank. There's a bunch of small tweaks before cranking. Filter off the gas tank, making sure the floats are moving freely, a little oil down the spark plug holes, clean and tighten all the battery grounds...blah blah blah. Do the research. It will be about an hour of reading but so worth it.
