October 21, 20177 yr comment_532903 Maybe in front of the passenger seat? Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58776-extinguisher-location/#findComment-532903 Share on other sites
October 21, 20177 yr comment_532904 My thought was behind the passenger seat mounted to the deck wall. Where people like to drill holes for speakers in the tool box. Don't know the technical name for the space. Thats kind of big though no? I forget which one I had but it was about half that size. October 21, 20177 yr comment_532905 Maybe measure the distance for the mounting bracket and see if you can mount on the rail of the deck that has screws already. You'd likely be able to drill a hole in the extinguisher bracket. October 21, 20177 yr comment_532907 Cliff - I have one with the same mount. I have it on the forward side of the right side shock tower, mounted upright. Its an easy reach from the driver's seat, is not in the way when putting stuff in the rear deck area. October 21, 20177 yr comment_532911 Just remember that if your car comes to a VERY sudden stop the canister will become a fast moving projectile heading toward you and your passenger, a steel bracket and straps are a good idea. October 21, 20177 yr Author comment_532916 If I put it in the corner like Mr Arnett's it would hit the back of the passenger's seat, right? Also like the idea of using preexisting holes as JSM suggest. I'll see if that's a possibility behind the passenger's seat too. Thank you all for your replies. I tried the front of the seat base but the nozzle wouldn't allow it. Thanks again, Cliff. October 22, 20177 yr comment_532936 I mounted mine in front of the passenger seat and held in place with a ribbon of Velcro which is passed through a hole in the seat foreward support and around the extinguisher. Pull the red Velcro tab and it’s free. Edited October 22, 20177 yr by AZ-240z Added descriptive word! October 22, 20177 yr Author comment_532943 I'll try the Velcro first before drilling holes in the vinyl at the shock towers. Thank you for that suggestion.
