CanTechZ Posted June 11, 2021 Share #13 Posted June 11, 2021 Thanks for posting this, looking forward to reading your future update. My strut definitely needs replacing. Cheers, Mike
heyitsrama Posted June 13, 2021 Share #14 Posted June 13, 2021 Super fast shipping, they came in today :0 They included all the hardware too! I think this will work on 1973 models as well, I did not try to fit it into the car, but by eyeball it looks like it will go in smooth. @CanTechZ This might be the way to go for your car too, I should have ordered another one for my white car and used the free shipping 😕

gundee Posted June 16, 2021 Share #16 Posted June 16, 2021 This is the one I ended up using for my 240Z. Fits and works perfect. https://strongarmliftsupports.com/hatch-lift-support-c4313
heyitsrama Posted June 16, 2021 Share #17 Posted June 16, 2021 (edited) @grannyknot looks like that one has double the force that the 4777 can produce, makes sense only one in the 70-73 chassis… Edited June 16, 2021 by heyitsrama

Had to strip the area down and re-weld that support, now the support on my car could have just been weak or poorly welded from the factory, I don't know but for the one lift early cars maybe a 70-80lb lift should be considered.
heyitsrama Posted June 16, 2021 Share #19 Posted June 16, 2021 I noticed on my 74 car that some rust had started to build up in that spot. Was it just 2 spot welds from the bottom to get it reinstalled?
Wyo240 Posted June 16, 2021 Share #20 Posted June 16, 2021 Just installed mine from Lift Supports Depot on a ‘71 240z! All hardware included and took 20 min. I did have to source a 8mm nut and washer for the body ball mount thought.
