Sorry to post a question without searching the site. I know this is an old question. Engine's about done and I've got a lot to do, need to order the parts now. Car is '73 240Z. Maybe it's time to ditch the points.

I went by this Excel spreadsheet and ordered a 1979 280ZX distributor from amazon.com.  It was a remanufactured one but like new.  You'll have to buy a larger cap and rotor as the one from amazon was just the basic distributor.  $100 and I have been running it for three years.  One of the best things I've done to my 240.  You'll need to get the adapter Phillip shows in his Tech Tip.  zcarsource.com or a junkyard.
