Posted October 31, 20177 yr comment_533794 I just saw this on instagram. Not sure where the photo was taken but it's an L series head with FI and a plate on the head that said "Mikuni" and one on the throttle body that says "fuel injection prototype." I've never heard of this. Anyone know what's up? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58852-mikuni-fi-prototype/ Share on other sites
October 31, 20177 yr comment_533795 If the Mikuni's never made it to production, SK Racing / OER make TBI units that may be similar: http://www.oer.co.jp/SportsInjection.html Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58852-mikuni-fi-prototype/#findComment-533795 Share on other sites
October 31, 20177 yr comment_533819 Looks like Z Car Garage will be showing off the Jenvey FI system at SEMA -- this installation is on the OS Giken head as well From their facebook page: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58852-mikuni-fi-prototype/#findComment-533819 Share on other sites

November 15, 20177 yr comment_534973 More teaser from SEMA and Mikuni: http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/tokyo-motor-show-mikuni-will-make-these-throttle-bodies-if-theres-enough-interest/#more-62706 Edited November 15, 20177 yr by NVZEE Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58852-mikuni-fi-prototype/#findComment-534973 Share on other sites
November 30, 20177 yr Author comment_536228 I just saw a guy on Instagram named Francisco Gutierrez (https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCTvrwMREOb53ARiCs23q5tg) got his Jenvey system in the mail today. I’ll let you know what he says if he isn’t already on here and doesn’t chime in. Edit: Here's his first post on it. I feel like they could undercut the competition and become the default solution. November 30, 20177 yr Author comment_536289 Also, can someone point me to a GOOD thread about what is involved in converting a 240Z to EFI in addition to this one? I have a hazy sense of what is required (280Z gas tank, different wiring harness, megasquirt or similar), but the search function is basically just yielding a bunch of threads of people asking if they should convert to the 280Z fuel injection and being told to use the search function. :/ Edited November 30, 20177 yr by Matthew Abate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/58852-mikuni-fi-prototype/#findComment-536289 Share on other sites

The 240z fuel system has to go to high pressure so you just need a pump, filter, and high-pressure hose. Typically it makes a circuit so you re-use the send and return hard lines from/to the tank. 2. The manifold needs to be changed to one that takes injectors. 3. The injectors need to be sized to the engine demand. 4. An injector controller/driver and engine sensors are needed to drive the injectors based on the engine speed and load. 5. The controller system needs electricity from the existing 12V bus.
