On a 72 240Z is the spare tire rim the same pattern/the exact same as the stock steel wheels? Thanks!

It should be exactly like the stock wheels that came on the car originally, unless someone changed it out over the last 45 years.

Thanks guys.  Here is what I picked up with the car.  To the seller, it was an after thought and he said, "you want those?"  I am taking them down to get sandblasted, but do not want to bother with the 5th wheel if it does not go to the Z. Tire 1 is the stock (I have 4) and tire 2 is the mystery tire.  It might be hard to see, but it has four slots as opposed to the nine on the 240Z stock tire.  Any idea what it goes with?

Hard to say, but see if it fits.  I know not original but unless you going 100% original don't worry.  If you are swap.  

Throw some air in it.  Looks like it will be just fine.

If you look around on google.com you'll see some newer spares that bolt up.  Altima and Sentras I think, late 90s or early 2000s?  You can buy them from a junkyard for somewhere around $25.  Cheaper than a new tire. 

 

Anybody know for sure what are good donors for a 15", Z-bolt pattern space-saver spare?

I purchased one off of eBay and it was from a 2010 Nissan Sentra.  Mine was a 16 inch but I know there are 15 inch versions as well.  Fit perfectly both on the wheel studs as well as the spare tire well.

I got the rims back from the sandblaster and it is now time to prime and paint.  Do I paint the insides as well?  Thoughts?

I would put something over the fresh steel or it will rust.  The inner part of the one I have open is sort of an off white, grey? looking color.

More of a grey color. Original off my '72.

On page 191 of the "how to restore your Z" it says the early Zs were silver on the inside then oversprayed matte black on the outside.  Then they did gloss black on the inside, then "lower gloss" on the outside.  

My early '72 is silver everywhere then  matte black on the outside. FYI

I think for my spare I'll do matte black all over the wheel.  Easier for me.
