That Ozzy Guy Posted April 30, 2003 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2003 As some of you already know I've been looking at a V8 240Z from QLD. Last week around this time I purchased the car and had it shipped down. It finally arrived today and I'm exstatic. The car is more than I expected and also less then I expected (if that makes sense). What I mean is, it is an excellent car but needs a little bit of cosmetic work to get it to it's former glory of Z Nationals concours winning state. It's got stone chips and chipped interior, loose carpet, no carpet in some parts, dud handbrake and wipers etc etc The power is all there and the potential for more is within easy reach. Just apply money. It'll be a while before I can get some work done to it but there's more than enough for me now. Anyway, I'll stop rambling and post a few pics. Gee Posted April 30, 2003 Share #4 Posted April 30, 2003 Pwoar! Nice engine bay.. I turned down a V8 z without even looking at it. I think I might now regret that decision!!!
biker Posted April 30, 2003 Share #5 Posted April 30, 2003 Ozzy Guy I saw your car up here in Qld at the Nationals. I was too busy drooling over the engine to notice anything about loose carpet!
Bambikiller240 Posted April 30, 2003 Share #6 Posted April 30, 2003 Good on Ya,George! It's a sweet looking Ride. With all that power, keep your throttle foot under control so you don't end up paying too much HP tax!!
sjcurtis Posted April 30, 2003 Share #7 Posted April 30, 2003 What an excellent choice. Good to see it arrived in one piece from Bris-Vegas. Love that engine all those cubes, with power and reliability in one.Annette, my wife won the bet, she said you would buy the V8 Z.When you decide to go test driving, try out your new found reliability in a northerly direction, come up to Newcastle so we can get a good look over the new Z too. It looks great but some of us did not get to the nationals for a close look ( read drool). cheersSteve:classic:
g260 Posted April 30, 2003 Share #8 Posted April 30, 2003 Hey George,Love the car. Looks brilliant!!. Even though I am a purest and prefer the original engine, that car looks very nice. Ben and I both agree the Simmons wheels look fantastic. Are they FR17's or 18's.Hope you bring it to the next club meeting.Did your old car stay in NSW or was it exported interstate?Geoff
