Willie Dixon wrote it and the "man" Muddy Waters first to record. Love Foghat but it all comes from the Southern Blues. 

Here's Hound Dog before Esley Presley. Buddy Guy does an outstanding job on that Stratocaster too. He's a kid, little skinny ****.
