January 18, 20187 yr comment_540160 Loose wheel bearings will make it follow the ruts also. On bushings, you'll need to choose rubber or polyurethane. That's a page or two of good discussion. January 18, 20187 yr Author comment_540163 Probably poly as long as it doesn't make the ride too harsh. I'll search for info here, I'm sure there's some treads on it. Yes, I think the wheel bearings need changing too Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/59317-new-owner-from-the-houston-area/?&page=2#findComment-540163 Share on other sites
January 18, 20187 yr comment_540167 It's worht some study before choosing. What's this thing? A giant AC compressor? Looks like it's not connected. January 18, 20187 yr comment_540169 If that Yorx A/C isn't operable yank that POS out. I had the same set-up and just replacing the fuel pump was a huge pain. They're heavy and the pulley set-up is very cumbersome for setting the timing, swapping water pumps etc. My opinion only. I hate those things. January 19, 20187 yr Author comment_540244 Agreed. I've already removed it. I've got a BMW 3.0 CSi too and I put a Sanden compressor in that. Works excellent, getting one for the Z too. January 19, 20187 yr Author comment_540246 Prices are on the upswing in a big way. Check out www.e9coupe.com for details. I love mine, drove it from Texas out to Monterey and back for the Historics. January 29, 20187 yr comment_541064 Just now seeing this thread. Congrats on your new Z! Based on what I saw in the BAT auction it was well bought. Glad you made it home with little drama are off to the races with making it the way you want. If you are ever in the Austin area post a shout on the Capital Z of Texas club FB page. Are you planning to attend ZCON in Atlanta in October? January 29, 20187 yr Author comment_541065 Thanks, About what I expected. It's beginning to get interesting. Just got two boxes of front suspension parts from MSA today, looks like major surgery this weekend. Then the rear plus new struts. Also have got a bid box of sound deadening material that's next up on the to-do list. Just now finding local groups to join. I've seen the Austin group, can't seem to find a Houston group. Is there one? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/59317-new-owner-from-the-houston-area/?&page=2#findComment-541065 Share on other sites
January 30, 20187 yr comment_541129 I would go visit some of the Z shops around Houston and ask the guys that work there, reach on Facebook, and the like. There has to be one as Houston is a huge car city. February 13, 20187 yr comment_542158 BDJeff, when you get out from under your Z, consider registering it with the Datsun registry. Here is their link. Hopefully everyone that doesn’t know about this site will look into it.
