Any know the differences to the two different part numbers?  I always thought the script "Datsun" emblems were the same?

Good photos Charles!--it's a fairly subtle difference in the script and the pointiness of it.

We had a discussion of this quite some time ago---I'll see if I can find it and post it up if so.

Seems club member Arnie was a contributor to that thread.

Also there is a groove between the "s" and the "u" in the old font, and the "D" has the plastic removed from the upper left corner in the older version.

I studied mine and is the 2e pic.. the T has a left and right blunt ends were the other has an angle on them.. this (blunt ends)  emblem is from a later 260z i think and was, the last time i checkt no longer available, can cost a 100$....  (btw, i've got a brand new one in plastic..

Thanks Patcon for posting the pics.

I found one on ebay for $81 shipped from Japan.    I wish I started gathering more parts years ago.  Stuff is quickly disappearing and it seems once it's gone, it's ebay.

I did manage to score a complete P30/E31 block/head combo for $150 the other day.  Could be worse!

Just to add to the info pile, Z Car Depot now carries the E4601 as well as other emblems in metal.  There are some subtle variations like no groove between letters, but it's kinda hard to tell from their photo.  Weren't all the original 240 and 260 emblems metal to begin with? and were the 280 emblems all plastic?

I think 70 and maybe early 71 were all metal. Not 100%.

yeah I saw theirs. One is a reproduction in metal but is stick on, the other is the OEM but now out of stock for the 280z.
