:cross-eye scanlon after you broke the cable and went through all the trouble to remove hood why did you close the damn thing without attaching a new cable and you said your self you did this twice??? ROFL :stupid: bambikiller you dont need to have the cable hanging down under the car , just put the loop thru the dash where you can reach it from the drivers side ( needs to be on that side so the pull is from the correct direction) that is if you are driving a left hand drive car.:classic:

Easier to just leave dangling in engine compartment than to hassle with routing through firewall. Only needed for emergency use, so only worth minimal effort.

PS: I'm LAZY! :) (and don't want to add another hole in firewall)

I went from easy to hard and eventually it took taking the whole hood off to get to the engine...anyway, getting a new spring, etc off ebay for it so i wont have to go thru the trouble again...anyway thanks guys, you all rock....peace

My clock works, and is 31 years old. Was repaired in 1982-3.

Runs great, just gains about 15-20 minutes a day. It sat long enough this time to be only 43 minutes LATE this am. that is 23hours and 17 minutes fast actually.
