Posted February 18, 20187 yr comment_542620 Trying to replace the u-joints in my ‘72 240z (r180), and the moog 393 replacements aren’t fitting in correctly to allow for the retaining clips to seat fully. Decided to measure the new vs old ujoints and the new ones are ~2 mm bigger Than the ones I took off. Any advice on what else to try? The caps are the right size, the body just seems to wide. February 18, 20187 yr comment_542628 Check the dimensions against the specs. in this link - https://www.opticatonline.com/part/moog-driveline-products-393-universal-joint Looks like 56mm from outer groove edge to outer groove edge. Maybe you got the right box/wrong product. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/59561-half-shaft-u-joints/#findComment-542628 Share on other sites
February 18, 20187 yr comment_542636 It is possible you bent the yoke like I did. Make sure you use a supporting spacer while pressing in the caps. The yoke ears definitely will bend and become closer together.
