siteunseen Posted March 6, 2018 Share #73 Posted March 6, 2018 I ended up keeping the '77 rear bumper and just run the front 240 bumper. Looks pretty good and have the extra protection back there.
riverstonefly Posted March 6, 2018 Author Share #74 Posted March 6, 2018 It would likely fit, but would look odd. In order to get the passenger rear bumper shock off you have to drop the tank. That’s a fun project. Here’s an idea: Not sure why it would it look all that odd Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk

I'm planning to fill in holes and have it tucked about an 1inch oh also removed the turbo tail....love the clean lines. SoCalJim Posted March 6, 2018 Share #76 Posted March 6, 2018 What's the disadvantage of removing the rear bumper gap guard, riverstonefly? I would think the simplicity of just having the thin rear bumper would be ideal. Just my $0.02.

[emoji19] I know I should just leave it stock but I hate those damn warts on the ends. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Jaymanbikes Posted March 6, 2018 Share #78 Posted March 6, 2018 Getting it off is tough, it’s spot welded to the car, I pulled mine because it sticks out as far as a 240 bumper. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
Jaymanbikes Posted March 6, 2018 Share #79 Posted March 6, 2018 Once I got the bumper shocks out I filled the holes and did my paint workSent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile Hmm this is why I was thinking on leaving it. Figured it would look fine as long as the 240 bumper will still fit. Great car by the way!JrSent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
Zed Head Posted March 6, 2018 Share #81 Posted March 6, 2018 People have posted about pushing the bumpers in on their shock absorber mounts, then locking them in place. FastWoman for one, and others. Still bulky but won't stick out so far.

I've done this on a few impact bumpered 911's but it still leaves the weight....Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
riverstonefly Posted March 6, 2018 Author Share #83 Posted March 6, 2018 Also is anyone running stock steelies on their Z? I was thinking of powder coating the steelies black or grey and running open lug nuts. Would love to see pics of any Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
S30Driver Posted March 6, 2018 Share #84 Posted March 6, 2018 Remember that the stock rims are 14" which has a big impact on tire selection. Also, you seem to be in weight reduction mode, alloys would be lighter.
