I have been in contact with the seller and he said he truly  did not know that they where reproduction when he was selling the hubcaps and was thankful that it was brought to his attention by people contacting him.

I don't have a problem with reproductions .

Not so sure people aren't going a little too far here.  The guy is not selling them as OEM.

Edit - the price alone is offensive though.  It's got URGELIS all over it.

Interestingly, the ad states that they are for "off road use only" and that he's not responsible for any injuries as a result of use.  I would hope potential buyers are smart enough to realize they're dealing with a wonky seller and avoid.

 Hubcaps on an off-road? Z?

Of course.  Drivers want to dress up their entries in the East African Safari Rally.  And what better way than to add a matched set of off road use only,  scratched, non-OEM, as-is, no rust, 1970 Datsun Z hubcaps?  I wonder if the seller has a release from liability form for buyers to sign in case of injury.

If Frank Monise was 20 when he started the business in 1949, he'd be 89 now.  I'm thinking that his grandson Greg is probably the thief and Frank doesn't know.  Frank Jr might know though.  And they're all down there around Rancho Cucamonga.  Seems like a thieves den for Datsun parts.  People just don't realize that everything we do is on the internet.  And they put it out there, with their stories of "legendary and famous".  Doubt that the fame was for gouging customers and selling fake parts.

Stanceworks has promoted thieves before, there was a guy, Senza Pari, who ripped off many people.  Wasn't there a guy from the Vintage Racing League onhere a while ago.  Now they're sullied.

Frank probably started out as an honorable guy.  Nepotism does something to people.

I'm a little over the top here, but all of this stealing and lying that's on the news every day is getting to me.

Probably for pedestrian safety. They probably fall off and can injure people due to poor fit or metal fatigue.

Most Chinese fake parts sort of look like the original but function and quality are never the goals of a fake part.
