Hi,  have we discussed about this before?

I want to know the answer of these coding.

Each jack  has alphabetical code,

I have a jack ,

’ P. C. E ‘

Could it be made 1970 March 5th ?

This jack is in my 03/1970 240Z.

And olso the car has ‘ 0.  C ‘  stamp on a tire stoppers , I guess it could be 1970. March.

I saw a 09/1970 car has

‘ P  H  Y’ , this means  1970  August 25th ?

This car still has a paper list in a tool bag,

with a stamp ‘ 45   9   10’ ( 1970  September 10th)

And I found some 1969 cars have ‘ O ‘ for

their jack,

O  I   A  , 1969 September 1st ?

O  G  S ,  1969 June  19th ?

These cars have these on their tire stopper s.

‘  9.  I ‘  1969  September?

’ 9   K  ‘  1969  November?

How about these , I think

Tire stopper,

0. G.  1970. July

2   E    1972   May

‘C ‘  is stamped, however ‘ G ‘ is engraved, so the change would be happened around April to June 1970 .

Jack ,

Q. F.  V.  1971. June 21st

R  E  DD   1972 May  30th

Somewhere around 1971 , jack has changed its comportments . Early one has unique contact piece and only two rivers applied to hold the basement while later ones has four .

If this is true,  ‘ A’  means 1954 . At that time

Nissan was making Datsun sports DC-3 .

I think this is one of the easiest way to guess when my car had left from the factory.

And it is nice to have ‘ munching numbers ‘

those factory items.

How about yours ?

Ok Kats, this is what I have using your codes:

Jacks:

OCH - March 8, 1969

OIA - Sept 1, 1969

OKB - Nov 2, 1969

OLA - Dec 1, 1969

OLA? - Dec 1, 1969  (this one is difficult to read the 2nd and 3rd letters, so this is my best guess)

PFX - June 24, 1970

RDM - April 13, 1972

RDN - April 14, 1972

REL - May 12, 1972

RFQ - June 17, 1972

TLCC - Dec ??, 1974

Wheel chocks:  Note I was looking for only for the black ink stamps not the punched letters .  I only have a couple with the black ink stamps, so will have to look for punched letters the next time I go to my garage

9J - Dec 1969

9L - Oct 1969

Thank you so much Mike !  !

You have so many jacks, just amazing.

Are they all come from your cars ? If so,

Do you think my coding will work or not ?Does each car have each corresponding jack ?

Rubber stamps on the wheel chokes are so cool , they are 1969 pieces !

Many thanks,

Kats

My jack is stamped S D X, which is April 24 1973 if I'm doing the decode correctly.

My car build date is 12/70 and I know that the engine was swapped to a '73 sometime before I bought it.  So it looks like the jack helps date the engine, if it came from the same car.

Interesting thread @kats I have a pair of wheel stops  0 B and a set of O D

The jack in my 70 was a newer one R 1 T

I also have a jack from a 3/70 which I can't make out the letters.

An interesting observation is the two are different lengths. I was going to swap out my newer jack for the older and it would not fit.

Also I was working on my window regulator today and saw it had a date stamp as well  0 4 I

My friend Mr. Shimoura has a super clean genuine Fairlady 240 ZG  (9/ 1972),

we checked her pockets and there you go, matching numbers jack and choke !

You can see R. I. G. on the jack, “1972 September 7th “

And 2. I. on the choke, “1972. September “

Please note the seat, from September 1972, interior materials were changed to “ flame retardant” , this made the seats looked slightly different from former design and shape.

Hi !

Here is my Dec 1971 240Z, I am now very for sure our decoding is correct,

The tire chockes “ 1 K “ (71 Nov)

The jack “ Q. K. C. C “ (. 71 Nov 29th )

What does  “ D “ on the wheel nut wrench mean ?

I stowed them “ as directed “ into the bin.

Tomorrow I will drive this orange 240Z from my mother’s house to my house , 550 miles trip !
