Fellas just wondering why so many choose to use sound dampening/Insulation and plush/heavy carpet in their Z's? I have recently aquired my 1st Z, a 1978 280 and I'm trying to lighten up my interior but to my surprise there are no lightweight carpet alternatives.
I have owned many early Porsche 911's and most Porsche owners look for ways to lighten up there cars by removing all sound dampening material and replacing heavy plush carpeting with light weight alternatives or deleting the carpet all together. I understand the noise would increase in the cab but to be honest I would think most would love it!
Hell I've even removed my a/c, factory radio/all speakers from my 1980 911SC! Who needs a radio when you can listen to all those glorious sounds from the engine.
