March 14, 20186 yr comment_544570 I'm not 100% sure what part you're asking about, but the answer is no regardless. Different chassis design. March 14, 20186 yr comment_544572 Scotty Rocket is a man of few words who does not keep his threads going. But it looks like he has a damaged 78 280Z he's trying to fix. Scotty, the 79 280ZX won't help you much except for the front struts, hubs and brakes. I think that they might transplant, but not even 100% on that. On the other hand, you could put your 78 drivetrain in the 79. March 14, 20186 yr Author comment_544583 Well, my front frame is pretty much shot, looking for a rolling chassis to put the rest of my baby on. March 14, 20186 yr comment_544585 There is no "frame" for S30's (240Z/260Z/280Z) - they are unibody cars as stated earlier. If your front rails/fenders/etc. are shot your best bet is a replacement front clip from a donor 280Z. There is a 77 280z in central Florida that is basically a shell for 2k. I can send you the info If your interested. Engine is pulled and interior is gutted. He said it needs floors. If you have a 280Z, then you would preferably want a donor 280Z body. There are some small differences in the 280Z bodies over the production years, but it is nothing much. Can you post some photos of the damaged section you are planning to replace? Photos say so much more than words. Btw welcome to the club. March 15, 20186 yr Author comment_544628 The inner genders of the engine compartment are rusted from the bottom to about 4” below motor mounts. I think the frame rails are the problem as the engine seems to have sunk down about 2” or more. The crossbar (front) seems intact.
