260Z: 157

As I'm sure the registration numbers would be more difficult to obtain here in the states perhaps we can extrapolate a bit. How many 240Z models were originally sold in the UK? I'm sure some of the 152 listed above were later imported but it would still be interesting to have a rough percentage of how many are still on the road.

On the other hand, cars are probably more "disposable" here. The other end of the spectrum is Cuba, where they still drive many American cars from the '50s.

Can't find the post currently, but someone made a really intelligent suggestion regarding contacting the people that restored for Nissan to see what they had and what it would cost to restore a Z. Just wondering if anyone has.

And where the heck was that post? Possibly in another forum?

Wasn't the suggestion to contact owners of other Gold Medallion winner S30's? That suggestion was made in the Thread about offering your car for sale.

I don't remember a suggestion to contact the Resto shops for the Nissan cars(but that doesn't mean it wasn't made).

There were several shops involved in the Resto program for Nissan.

One was Classic Datsun Motorsports (Les Canaday), another was Datsun Alley (Marc Jones) in Signal Hill, CA.

Sorry I don't remember the names of any other shops. Maybe "Pierre'Z" in So Cal ?

There was a referral to a shop in Cal. Actually gave the phone number, name and a link to their site (it may have been Mike that gave the referal). I can't find it in either forum... but I read many other forums too, so it may have been somewhere else that I read it.

I think right now it is just too easy to find a good Z for 15-20K in great condition making it hard for someone to go to 30-35K. In a few years it will probably be different though.

Let us know any you might know of for sale. I have come across several people looking that have budgets between 10 & 15k.

Your car is way above these, and I think your car is worth the 30-35K, heck even 40K to someone who really has to have it.

I don't think i've seen one in the condition yours is in.

All you have to do is find that person who really has to have a perfect Z, and likes what yours is equipped with.

I personally would want all the performance mods if I was paying 30K.

But that is just my opinion.

Even buy one of those 5-10K cars and build my specific dream z.

You have to find that collector that will pay the price.
