Maybe he thought he needed before-and-after reference, but when the barn find is admission of your own storage practices ...
siteunseen Posted April 17, 2018 Share #4 Posted April 17, 2018 Yeah, he says he parked it in his garage. Apparently he moved to a different house?
psdenno Posted April 17, 2018 Share #5 Posted April 17, 2018 Interesting to see the list of dealer "add-ons" that jacked the price nicely. Goes to show how hot sales were for the Z in those days. Pay over sticker price, pay for dealer add-on items, or go on a waiting list to get a bare bones model. I was one of the "pay over sticker price" buyers in 1971. Zed Head Posted April 17, 2018 Share #6 Posted April 17, 2018 That would be a standard example of a time capsule, or survivor car. He should left the dust and grime on, and just clear coated it.
SteveJ Posted April 17, 2018 Share #7 Posted April 17, 2018 He would have left the dust and grime on it, but he must have read somewhere that 240Z prices are going up. He must owe quite a bit to his crack dealer, too.
Zed Head Posted April 17, 2018 Share #8 Posted April 17, 2018 The tires must have been brand new in 1995. 23 years ago. Should be able to knock $10,000 off the price with that info. The dash looks great. I wonder how fragile everything is though. Will it turn in to normal Z dust as soon as somebody starts using it.

I payed 73 sticker price for a used 71 in 73. One of the best decisions I ever made.
Phil Z Posted April 19, 2018 Share #12 Posted April 19, 2018 I paid sticker price for my 72 Z at Continental Auto in Great Falls MT. The car was completely stock. $ 4,144.00. Still have my Z. I did not have a choice of color. 110 red with white interior was all that came in the day they said come and get it. First time I saw a Z was in Texas at a self car wash in 1970. I was smitten. I was headed to Thailand in the Air Force. 1 year 4 months later I got my Z. Happy times for sure.Phil Smith
