There seems to be a small glitch. After I have read all the content. I mark the site as read. So everything is current. When I come back everything from the calendar shows up as unread content. It does this every time

Ok, it looks like this is definitely related to calendar events only.  I am working on it.

 Hi Mike

 An update and perhaps a clue on the returning Events Calendar. They don't show up when I first click on "Unread Comments". However, after reading the first unread comment and clicking on the left arrow to go back, the events calendar (all 76 of them) show up under the "Today" heading at that time. Hope this helps. Thank you.
