August 22, 20195 yr comment_582342 Guys, I do not have any interests to comment and give my oppinion but while reading @Patcon's story I wanted to chime in a bit. FYI I'm just back from the factory few hours ago, where I did pick up my own bumpers. I have been in communications with them for a while and wanted to meet them, so I went! I met the Owner, Amy and their small team. Those folks are genuine hard workers and very nice people overall. They run a small operation and have a lot of differents bumper from RR, rare Mercedes models, VW Bug, P1800 to only name a few and of course our Z's. I saw their products and their operations. Produciton is simple, straight forward and the result; the bumpers, do look very good. In my case, SS chrome plated products and the packaging is good too (I'll comment again once I reach Montreal with them). I feel this is a very good quality product for the price, can't imagine the need to spend on re chroming an old set other than the need to absolutely have THE original ones on the car. By the way I'm sorry to hear your story @Patcon, but I need to say that horror stories do not only happen abroad but locally too. I did have my share of that in the past year but wont spill the tales here as I prefer to keep good relationship than start un necessary conflicts. I just tell myself that there is always more to it than we want to know or see. It does not excuse poor customer service and cheats but hey,,, Edited August 22, 20195 yr by ZCarFever Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60079-ss-bumpers-from-vietnam/?&page=9#findComment-582342 Share on other sites

Chroming here is so so so expensive. I'm going to cut the single piece front up to make a Monte Carlo spec front. I'm quite certain that they could have done it before chrome. October 23, 20195 yr comment_586213 Bumping (heh) this thread a bit... I didn't end up placing the order -- the original price quote was barely cheaper than waiting for the Z store to get theirs back in stock where I can pick them up locally. Then I got sidetracked by other things and didn't order from Z store either. Fast forward to a week ago and Rooney emailed me asking if I was still interested. A couple emails later, the new price is $650 shipped. I'm about to jump on that, except they want a bank transfer because of the lower fees compared to PayPal. Makes me a little nervous. But before I make an offer to to cover some of the fees (really, another $25 or so isn't gonna kill me), does anyone want to tell me I'm being overly cautious? October 23, 20195 yr Popular Post comment_586230 I don't think you're being overly cautious. Too many unscrupulous overseas businesses. Once you do a wire transfer, your money is gone, even if you never get your order. Just offer to pay the PayPal fees. That way you at least have some recourse if they rip you off. If your PayPal account is tied to your credit card, you have an additional layer of protection. If the vendor is unwilling to accept PayPal, I'd tell them "no thanks " and look elsewhere Just my $.02 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60079-ss-bumpers-from-vietnam/?&page=9#findComment-586230 Share on other sites
October 23, 20195 yr comment_586232 I use a savings account I put just enough money in to cover the price. Give them that acct. # and they can't wipe out my checking account. You could never be overly cautious in my opinion. They are trying their hardest to screw us! October 23, 20195 yr comment_586237 Group Harrington may not be the cheapest, but they had no problem with taking my credit card. I did have to contact the bank to tell them it was a legit charge. Group Harrington also shipped promptly. October 23, 20195 yr comment_586240 Have you looked at futofab.com? My chrome plated plain straight ones came through him then to me from Vietnam. Same boxes too. They were/are perfect to me and were the better price. That was a 'black Friday sale" though but that's just around the corner Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60079-ss-bumpers-from-vietnam/?&page=9#findComment-586240 Share on other sites

October 24, 20195 yr comment_586266 I offered to pick up the fees and got no pushback from the seller at all about using PayPal, so the order's placed and the waiting begins. October 31, 20195 yr comment_586725 Hi all. I've been "off the reservation" for a while. I'm on the fence about retrofitting early bumpers to my '77 now, while the fuel tank is out of the way, or later, when I can "afford to buy bumpers" (i.e. not have to delay gratification in other areas of my life). And driving around bumperless isn't a good idea in SC (or probably anywhere). So I need a nudge... Any updates on recent orders, to guide me toward a particular vendor? Harrington is out of my budget. But the Asian ones might just be attainable, if the quality is there and a reputable supplier can be nailed down.
