Since I haven't seen your dehumidifier, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most dehumidifier's have a drain hose option on the back?  A male screw in for a hose fitting.  It's there to bypass the tank and to route the collected water down a drain,  or in your case to the yard.

I was going to suggest this. Mine in my shop is routed outside to a drain

Yes the big ones do. This one is made for small bathroom size rooms 150sqft or less. It has a little tank that slides in the bottom. 

I should probably put my big one out there, but I may put one of my extra WiFi cameras in there and not even half to move off the couch to check!

We have the same OCD. Obsessive COUCH disorder. I go to great lengths to stay in the a/c but then get up in my attic and go through storage containers instead of bringing them down. I think I'm just nuts, plain and simple.
