June 18, 20186 yr comment_551267 The phrase "won't start" does not give any diagnostic value. Does the starter turn the engine? Have you checked for spark? Will the car start with starting fluid? What is the fuel pressure? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60226-starter-over-heating/#findComment-551267 Share on other sites

Maybe your CHTS is disconnected. It's in the vicinity of where you've been working. June 18, 20186 yr comment_551283 I can't imagine you have good spark and it won't start on Ether. I don't think I have ever flooded a car bad enough to prevent firing on Ether. I would check for good spark again. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60226-starter-over-heating/#findComment-551283 Share on other sites
June 19, 20186 yr comment_551317 I suggested flooding because it could start on ether then the injectors would dump a bunch of fuel thinking that it's in the Arctic, if the CHTS was disconnected. But, confirming spark is always a good idea. Just noticed that it's a turbo also, which has the CAS to worry about. And the "ignitor", which can be replaced by a GM HEI module. The ignitors go bad, the CAS parts go bad. Lots of electrical gizmos to worry about to create a spark on the turbo system. June 19, 20186 yr comment_551318 Is the EFI power connector hooked up by the battery? Did you sand off the negative connection above the starter, fresh metal? Was it running before you did the replacements? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60226-starter-over-heating/#findComment-551318 Share on other sites
