MM569457 Posted March 12, 2023 Author Share #194 Posted March 12, 2023 (edited) Where would the strainer be located? If it’s clogged, how can air be able to get through? Edited March 12, 2023 by MM569457
Patcon Posted March 12, 2023 Share #195 Posted March 12, 2023 Put a pickup line in a container of fuel and use it as the tank. If the system fills and runs, the issue is in the tank...

Patcon Posted March 12, 2023 Share #197 Posted March 12, 2023 I would think you could put the container on the floor. If there's not a ton of extra line the electric fuel pump aught to prime itself. If it won't raise it up while the pump is running until it primes. Put a return line into the same container so it won't pump all the fuel back to the tank.
MM569457 Posted March 12, 2023 Author Share #198 Posted March 12, 2023 I’ll try in the morning. I’ll bypass the electric pump completely and try with the mechanical pump along. Currently both pumps are on the fuel line.
Patcon Posted March 12, 2023 Share #199 Posted March 12, 2023 If you only use the mechanical put a bottle under the hood close to the pump. The mechanical pump struggles to prime the line without the car running. If it were me, I would start with the substitute supply at the electric pump. If it works great, if not, move the fuel supply to the mechanical pump

Used a water bottle to draw in fuel. may bypass the electric fuel pump altogether IMG_7613.MOV
MM569457 Posted March 12, 2023 Author Share #201 Posted March 12, 2023 (edited) Figured it out. Mr Gasket low PSI fuel pump could not push fuel. I bypassed it completely and routed fuel to the mechanical pump. starts like a champ now Edited March 12, 2023 by MM569457

MM569457 Posted March 16, 2023 Author Share #203 Posted March 16, 2023 Seeing how there is a real possibility of the car being registered and driving…. I’m looking at safety features. Windshield wipers work, but the fluid pump is cracked. I’ll try and JB weld to fix, but it seems it would work if not cracked. i think the reverse lights aren’t working because the wires are switched. When I stop the leak on the clutch hose and replace the gear oil, I’ll double check the wiring.

Where do you think they are switched: at the transmission or at the tail light?
