It's metal. Not steel so it won't rust.

Looking forward to the finished product.  I had heard through a friend that you were getting close.  Do you plan on offering the hardware to attach them to the buckets?  

Is there some type of gasket to seal the cover?

If none is included with these covers, the Big Box hardware stores sell narrow foam insulation on a roll that works quite nicely on earlier versions of the cover metal trim produced by others.

I would use Rivnuts to anchor them.

Nut inserts is the way to go.

Updated with more testing. This pair has seals and screwed onto the headlight bucket.
