There are almost no projects here on the east coast that aren't total rust buckets so I'm starting to consider shipping one from further west. October 17, 20186 yr comment_559723 "Recently rebuilt" could mean almost anything. I'd get details. Primer can hide a lot. And Houston is next to the salty Gulf. Not sure they don't have rust problems too. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60942-1978-280z-near-houston/#findComment-559723 Share on other sites

There's only so much you can get from pictures and talking to the owner, which is why I was wondering if a forum member had seen it in person, and if so, what their opinion is. In the first pic you can see what looks to be body filler near the front of the passenger door. Looks like it is also missing the chrome around the little mini window on the passenger side. But for what I'm looking for, those aren't huge issues. October 17, 20186 yr comment_559730 And it looks like the engine bay has been hosed down. We all know what problems that creates. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/60942-1978-280z-near-houston/#findComment-559730 Share on other sites
October 17, 20186 yr comment_559739 It does have a viper alarm, that's nice. Getting a Z that already has one is a good find, cuz iirc they're about 1k to install. I don't want my car getting stolen, so I don't mind spending 1k on a viper alarm. Sure helps if it's already there. October 17, 20186 yr comment_559740 I think he's priced high. Looks like there's a fair amount of surface rust (and probably more) on the hatch and door jams, who knows where else. Real sloppy looking job on the primer; even sprayed over the door handle, lock and mirror. Who does that and why? If you're gonna take on a big project (which this looks like), you could probably find something cheaper.
