May 16, 200321 yr comment_37675 In Aus wheel spacers are illegal in all states for road/street use and can only be used off road. I would imagine it would be the same in most if not all states in the US. There are also a lot of good reasons why they are illegal. Spacers move the wheel centre out on the hub which changes two main things, the steering geometry and increases loads on the bearings. I would never contemplate using spacers of any thickness let alone 1 1/4 inches. Obviously there will be people out there that will disagree with me and praise wheel spacers as the only way to solve this and that, but when it all comes down to it aren't there enough wheels out there for Z cars without having to resort to front wheel drive wheels. My 20 cents.Alan. May 16, 200321 yr comment_37700 The best thing to do would be to convert the struts to a 2 1/2 inch adjustable coil-over set-up. That way, you can adjust the ride height to compensate for any possible tire rub on the fender lip and you'll gain quite a bit of space to fit the wheels without hitting the spring perch or spring. Then if you still have a problem, you can use the thinnest spacer required for more clearance. The spacers have been debated here quite a bit, the best thing I can say is never use any thicker spacer than is absolutely necessary, the thinner the better. It's either that or sell the wheels and find a set of 16 inch wheels with the correct backspacing... September 12, 200321 yr comment_49586 Those rims are Konig Shoguns. Sorry dude, but these rims have been discontinued for a while now. Try looking on ebay, maybe someone got sick of them and wants to get rid of them? Wont hurt to hunt around. Good luck, brother....Brian:alien: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/6108-aftermarket-z-wheels/#findComment-49586 Share on other sites
September 13, 200321 yr comment_49593 Originally posted by Alan Pugh aren't there enough wheels out there for Z cars without having to resort to front wheel drive wheels. My 20 cents.Alan. Highly agreed, I wouldn't bother with those wheels If you can't fit them sell them and get something more appropriate for the Z.There are plenty of nice looking wheels and you won't have to go through the hassle of spacers and as others said there probably no the best idea in the world either.Probably not the news you'd like to hear but I think we'd rather see you safer on the road than have you out there with a dangerous set up that could cost you your life.
