December 12, 20186 yr Author comment_563636 I did take a look at thier stuff before pulling the trigger on silvermine. Didn't notice the e brake functionality add on. Too late now! Brakes have shipped. And for the guys interested in model etc for the brakes, i asked Edan what they are for future pad replacement reasons... As followsstage 4 front kit uses 1991 toyota 4runner v6 caliper pads. and 1983 300zx n/a front rotorsstage 4 rear uses 2006 mustang gt rear caliper pads and re drilled rotorsSent from my SM-N950W using Tapatalk Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61233-z-car-store-vs-motorsport-rear-disc-kit/?&page=3#findComment-563636 Share on other sites

I have a set of these and they are awesome looking units. I am waiting for the park brake setup to arrive to install them. The fronts are already on my car. December 12, 20195 yr comment_589150 I am considering the Arizona Zcar kit. 1 year later how are they performing for you? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61233-z-car-store-vs-motorsport-rear-disc-kit/?&page=3#findComment-589150 Share on other sites
December 12, 20195 yr comment_589151 Well, my car is the perennial garage queen and has still not rolled under power since I bought her. I eventually gave up on AZC ever completing a rear park brake kit. All I ever got from Dave were promises of “two more weeks”...I worked with Edan to develop a rear park brake kit using his parts and the AZC rears. It took a bit of work, but now I have the best of both worlds! December 16, 20195 yr comment_589365 Looking in my notes from when I did the conversion for my car I have written, Rear disc brakes, -85-87 Maxima calipers w/11.2" rotor or -88 Maxima calipers w'10.2" rotor from 280zx/240sx rotor I can't remember which combo I went with, Hybridz brake section has lots of this info stickied at the top of the page but you have to hunt through those threads to find it. December 16, 20195 yr comment_589367 Thanks for getting back. My reason to convert is simplify maint. But is it worth it? It’s just going to be used for shows Sunday drives. What changes did you do to booster & master cylinder. December 17, 20195 yr comment_589441 10 hours ago, crshowers said: But is it worth it? Yes and No, it is sooo subjective, when you "upgrade" something like brakes, the perception of improvement is in direct proportion to the money and effort that was spent. Or it sure seems that way sometimes, if you're going to do weekend tootling then your stock brakes are fine just make sure they are good working order. Many guys track the classic Z with nothing more than stock brakes and good quality pads. I put in a 280z booster, 15/16th MC, SS flex lines, speed bleeders, good pads, the works, and although the brake feeling is good it is not as good as the brakes on my old 1987 BMW. Next I'm pulling it all off and going for the Wilwood setup front and back from Silvermine. December 17, 20195 yr comment_589487 Thanks for your honest reply. It’s always helpful to hear from a Z’er who’s been there done that. Any other weekend Z’ers converted to rear disc brakes?
