Timing marks

Here is the balancer off a 72. The mark on the left is TDC and each mark moving left to right is 5 degrees.

72 body and block, everything else 71, Tokico springs, Illumina, R180 CLSD, 83 close ratio, 3.90 gears, Ztherapy SUs, BRE 15X7 Libre wheels and BRE front spoiler.

That would be unusual, to have a damper marked to 40 degrees.  20 is more common.  Seems more likely that the small marks are 2.5.  Maybe 7too can measure between his marks.  Diameters should be the same so a measurement should correlate.

It's odd how little Nissan put in the FSM's about the timing marks.  Things only got clear in 73, when they went to one mark on the damper and a graduated tab.

 [mention=19298]Zed Head[/mention] I believe the white marks on his dampener are 10 degrees apart. In his pic the bottom white mark is TDC. Moving up, the next mark is 5 degrees and is not white. Moving up, the next mark is 10 degrees and is white, etc. The top white mark is 20 degrees.

I agree. Just needed a confirmation.
