How Many 240Z’s (1970 to 1973) are left?

Anyone have a somewhat reliable count on approximately how many 240Zs are still left? I wonder if Carl Beck has some insight into this? There were approximately 172,000 sold........It would be curious to know how many restorable cars are left....eh? So many have been crushed....how rare are they?

There's 5 I can put my hand on in this one horse town. Three running and 2 that aren't.

I'd guess half the total pruduction?

I'd be surprised if there were that many.

WAG would be 10-20% of production

How many came to the US out of total production?

So I looked up vehicle survival/attrition rates and this is what I came up with. We will never know the exact number and can only speculate based on current statistics.
So one study from the EPA stated that a car produced 31 years ago has .002 chance of still being on the road. 172,000 x .002 = 344. Another report was from registered 240Z’s stated that 234 240z’s were still registered in the US in 2013. With about 18 lost annually. See links below. With that said, I think sport cars have a lower attrition rate than a normal passenger car and I’d guess there is at least 1-2 cars unregistered 240z’s (being restored) for every one on the road. So with all that, I’d guess there are between 500-1,000 240z’s still around.
What do your think?

I believe the Honest John site noted above reporting 234 240Zs registered refers to 240Zs in the UK, not the US.
