Patcon Posted January 21, 2019 Author Share #13 Posted January 21, 2019 51 minutes ago, wheee! said: Bidding is at $1250 already and the car is worth about that. The dashpad is cracked, the quarters are bondo'd, stock running gear and unknown engine condition. Roof, doors and hatch look good and wheels and tires are ok. Interior is filthy but seats are okay. Frame (body) is twisted and the front end is a goner. Not worth $1500 in my opinion. No value left to either make a profit or make it worthwhile. At $1250 it will end up being $1500 with all the fees tacked on
Terrapin Z Posted January 22, 2019 Share #14 Posted January 22, 2019 The prices on the COPART site are in $CAD So the bid of $1150 CAD is only $864 USD, but the reserve is not met yet. The listed value of $18,000 CAD is really $13,530 USD. Not knowing where the reserve is, it may still get to high for a parts car. Then add on the cost of going to get it, or have it shipped. wheee! Posted January 22, 2019 Share #15 Posted January 22, 2019 I’m 3 hours away, my friend is 20 minutes away. Even 1200 Cdn is too much for this one.
Patcon Posted January 22, 2019 Author Share #16 Posted January 22, 2019 The car sold. Did anyone see what it actually went for? I wasn't able to watch it.
wheee! Posted January 22, 2019 Share #17 Posted January 22, 2019 Single bid for 1250 last I saw.
Patcon Posted January 23, 2019 Author Share #18 Posted January 23, 2019 They tend to move some when they cross the block. Sometimes surprisingly so
zKars Posted January 26, 2019 Share #19 Posted January 26, 2019 Well a local spy just asked if I have any fenders and hood for sale. Seems a friend of a friend bought this thing and thinks they can save it. Gotta love a dreamer.

Patcon Posted January 26, 2019 Author Share #21 Posted January 26, 2019 That's ambitious! Probably salvageable if the firewall and cowl area aren't too bad, but it's a lot of work and will probably need the whole right side of the engine bay. Along with a radiator support
wheee! Posted January 26, 2019 Share #22 Posted January 26, 2019 My friend looked at it in person. It will need MAJOR front end welding and metal replacement or a tubular frame. The engine bay is badly crumpled on the passenger side.
wheee! Posted January 26, 2019 Share #23 Posted January 26, 2019 Fibreglas rear bumper, cracked dash, stock drivetrain, stock brakes, interior is filthy, bondo on the quarter panels, lumps in the paint show poor body work. Glass was good, tires and wheels were still good, but overall, nothing spectacular or worth more than what it sold for.
Patcon Posted January 27, 2019 Author Share #24 Posted January 27, 2019 I am assuming Jim looked at it and determined the quarters were filled. That was one of the aspects that gave the car value until you find out they are previously damaged
