I sold the l28, kept my rb25det, and bought a "spare" rb25de that just happened to show up here locally....still deciding on naturally aspirated or turbocharged.... Here is the new scope...blue mean "acquired', red means "pending/TBD".... The current plan is to make sure everything fits before sending her to paint (hopefully some time this summer)... Brandon just fired up his new RB 26 normally aspirated. These are the numbers you’re looking at. The Datsun Spirit stroker does equally as well or better……much cheaper and more available parts. Just my humble opinion. Great work and I love the NSX! I would love to be closer to learn your techniques and borrow your tools. 😂 So much fun to watch your progress…..glad you are letting us tag along for the journey! I’m sure @Patcon would love to be closer too…..you guys have all the patience I’m lacking. Can’t wait to see the final product. I certainly do love a good puzzle...and there's no such thing as a rust free 240z 😉. ( but yeah ... maybe could have started with a better car 🤦♂️). (pS ... but with the kfvintage parts you don't really need much more than the trans tunnel these days LOL) Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61483-240z-fabbing-new-front-rails/?&page=35#findComment-660780 Share on other sites

January 7, 20241 yr comment_660796 @ConVerTT Is there a layer of undercoating that you have removed with the copper slag? or was that paint? It's mostly thick undercoat (spare tire well) and heavy dirt/paint elsewhere Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61483-240z-fabbing-new-front-rails/?&page=35#findComment-660797 Share on other sites
January 7, 20241 yr Author Popular Post comment_660807 Another 2.5 hours with the blaster...recycled glass this time. It cuts great but it's dustier. 2.5 hours is about the maximum even with full PPE because it gets dusty to the point where you can't see. I might add a slow downdraft fan (but trying to keep this booth cheap and temporary).... Again...super happy to see so much good metal. Looks like I've cut out most of the cancer already...(ran out of time before getting the last bit by the firewall. It should come right off next session) Before ... She's come a long way back ...
