I would price out the pieces individually. I suspect you could pull it together cheaper and get paid for the time to do it. Use Rockauto for everything you can. they may even have it all Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61554-ive-been-looking-for-a-project/?&page=13#findComment-571593 Share on other sites

Could get even more expensive if your cores are no good. Time vs. money vs. convenience. He says the MC and booster are "new" but then he requires cores. So they're probably rebuilt. Many of the Rockauto and other auto store reman parts available today are of low quality though. So, you kind of need to have a vision in mind of what you want the final product to be like. https://zcarsource.com/core-disclaimer/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61554-ive-been-looking-for-a-project/?&page=13#findComment-571610 Share on other sites

Might be a good solution for some people. I really don't like dealing with cores and core charges via shipping out of State. Especially if the vendor puts subjective restrictions on the condition of the cores. You can get rebuilt calipers through most Local Major Auto Parts Stores and they aren't picky about the cores you return. New rubber brake lines were available though local NAPA dealers etc. I would check RockAuto as well for price and availability. I agree that rebuilding calipers yourself is not a difficult task, but too often I've run into pitted housings or scared pistons - and wound up spending more money and time than it was worth it. Secondly I wouldn't put steel drums on a Series I 240Z today. If your original aluminum finned drums are good I'd leave them original. March 22, 20196 yr Author comment_571626 Is New remnaufactured OEM? https://zcardepot.com/products/brake-caliper-front-240z-260z-280z-70-78?variant=19275575623793 And I’m assuming that this OEM part is the same on both sides, since all I can find is the “right” side? https://zcardepot.com/products/wheel-cylinder-oem-right-70-72-240z?variant=19275500486769 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61554-ive-been-looking-for-a-project/?&page=13#findComment-571626 Share on other sites

The only place I've recently seen with left and right was MSA. Someone went through this not too long ago is what I remember. https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/classic21a09 Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61554-ive-been-looking-for-a-project/?&page=13#findComment-571652 Share on other sites

Just so there is no confusion... that is not the Original type installed at the factory on your 70 240Z. It can be made to work by rebinding/re-routing the brake lines - to hook them up to the correct ports. It cam be made to look right by swapping the reservoirs, but I do not know if any internal valving differences effect output line volumes or pressures. Based on Carl's reply would this be the same issue at less than one third the price or is this correct for a series one car? https://zcardepot.com/products/brake-master-cylinder-7-8-240z-260z-280z-70-78?variant=18837517992049¤cy=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwm-fkBRBBEiwA966fZPfEUr63LgJvS2U8A8WuCUYYIJgb8jkWtmcjcC-CFFSpyNBSAwSPZxoCa2IQAvD_BwE# Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61554-ive-been-looking-for-a-project/?&page=13#findComment-571869 Share on other sites

It looks like false advertising then if it says OEM. That price and the fact that they say OEM, it should be OEM. AM I expecting too much? How do you know if a part is OEM, if OEM no longer means OEM?
