February 21, 20196 yr comment_569033 I could have swore that I tried a regular z vac pot on the zx one when I started having a problem with mine. And it fit. February 21, 20196 yr comment_569036 I going to see if I kept my old vacuum can from my 77 distributor and see if it fits in the 80 unit. The round part that fits in to the distributor is smaller and the arm is a different length. If I recall right. Always worth double checking. February 21, 20196 yr comment_569040 I happen to have my box of distributor parts down. I'll dig around and confirm. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61644-repair-distributor-vacuum-advance-pot/?&page=2#findComment-569040 Share on other sites
February 21, 20196 yr comment_569041 I did still have a vac can for a 77 280 that is defective. Going to die sect it some day. I installed it in the 80 dizzy with no problem. Same goes with the new one, 81 maxima, and it fit. February 21, 20196 yr comment_569042 My mistake. I might have been thinking of breaker plates. Did you check that the arm attaches to the same spot on the breaker plate? February 21, 20196 yr comment_569043 There is only one difference, minor one. The vac inlet port is on top now where the 280 inlet is on the bottom side of the can. Get some extra vac line just in case. I didn't need any but..... It's also attached to the dizzy body the same way as well. February 21, 20196 yr comment_569045 Chasincats, I'd go for it. They only have one left. And my advance numbers are the same as it was with the 77 vac can and dizzy. Around 35 deg. Which is whats it been for a very long time.
