It makes a better repair to just drill out the spot welds and get the whole panel, my 2 cents Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570104 Share on other sites

The license plate panel actually goes all the way to the bottom. It's one piece. There are about 50 spot welds but you have already done about half of them. It is a much more invisible repair if you just do the whole panel and get a donor from a wrecking yard Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570128 Share on other sites

March 6, 20196 yr comment_570157 Nope, I don't think so. You would have to find a good donor. One of the vendors might have one Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570157 Share on other sites
March 6, 20196 yr Author comment_570162 Well hopefully someone who has this part sees this. I didn't know I could remove it as a whole... well whats left and replace it. That makes it a lot easier to complete once I find the piece. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570162 Share on other sites

For this type of part - you need to be pro-active in the search. I would suggest contacting Z Car Source in AZ and show them what you need. ... https://zcarsource.com/ Good luck. March 6, 20196 yr Author comment_570210 I have been. I reached out to them specifically today and just am trying to see now if I can get a better price. Theirs seemed a little steep. Theirs seemed a little steep. It's called supply and demand. They aren't making these cars anymore, so the prices will continue to rise..... If I had what you needed, I'd give it up. EDIT: I found another link for you - but it's not cheap either... http://www.car-part.com/ Edited March 6, 20196 yr by wal280z edit in bold Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570211 Share on other sites
March 6, 20196 yr Author comment_570212 I get that. That’s why I said it seemed steep and didn’t just say it was a rip off. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61724-78-280z/#findComment-570212 Share on other sites
