December 23, 200123 yr comment_1578 As far as I know.No were else unless its a North American car. Then it would be located on the top of the instrument panel cowl and is visible through the windshield. Also it should be on the the original log book. If you have the vehicle licence plate number the Local Driving Licence Vehicle Authorities could trace it for you.Good Luck. December 23, 200123 yr Author comment_1579 it's an American car. I know it has the plate by the windshield as all US cars have. I was wondering if it was stamped anywhere on the chassis? Most US cars have "hidden" numbers stamped somewhere. December 25, 200123 yr comment_1585 I'm not sure about the 240Z, but on my Fairlady Z's, both had the number stamped into the firewall. This was on the side nearest the master cylinder. Perhaps on the other side in a 240Z? Hope this helps...Bob Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/618-serial-number-location/#findComment-1585 Share on other sites
