Curious to know what the original factory finish was on the exhaust manifold and the heat shield between the exhaust manifold and carbs. Thanks.

My recollection of the exhaust manifold on my car was no finish - just bare casting (that quickly rusted!).  I have heat shields from both pre-heat riser and post-heat riser.  They appear to be clear zinc finish.

The heat shield on my 71 series 1 was clear cadium . That was from my zinc shop that had a harder time removing it.  

Duffy it might be cad its hard to tell by color all I know is it didn't get a chromate dip

Your left motor mount bracket should be engine blue while  your right bracket should be satin black.

Interestingly I just went out to take a look. Mine was painted as stated, some spots on the left bracket the blue was chipped it was black below. So it looks like they mounted the bracket to the engine before painting the engine because I found blue paint in the seem between the rubber mount also but not between the bracket and the mount.  Also no paint between the mount and the block.
