Posted March 27, 20196 yr comment_571952 It seems like nearly every 240z wheel is darker than the brochure photos? Has anyone restored to the original colour? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61900-original-steering-wheel-colour/ Share on other sites
March 27, 20196 yr comment_571953 I don't recall my wheel ever being as light-colored as in the brochures - it was more of a reddish color. Certainly not as light as the shifter knob. I noticed a clock-delete in one of your pics, not visible in any others. March 27, 20196 yr comment_571954 Agreed. I've never seen a blonde wheel. Might be that color shifting lacquer they used in 69/70----- Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61900-original-steering-wheel-colour/#findComment-571954 Share on other sites
March 27, 20196 yr comment_571966 The drapes don't match the carpet that's for sure on mine. Knob and wheel are completely different. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61900-original-steering-wheel-colour/#findComment-571966 Share on other sites

Took the old fake wood of and made new mahogany around it.. took me 38 hours work incl. 8! layers of paint.. I'm shure when you sanded the old wheel and put blank paint on it (6-10 layers of boat lacquer) it will be brighter, like in the brochures. Lot's af polishing also needed..
