Posted April 1, 20196 yr comment_572365 Hi All, Jump into front air dam and rear spoiler. Neither purchase can with any hardware or instructions (I do read them), just the unpainted part. Air dam, can't mess that up but I was curious if there is a standard or proper location for the rear spoiler? Checked out a ton of pics, Is the answer flush with the hatchback lip? or should there be a space forward of the lip? Rear spoiler 432 style, two mounting bolts. Any diagram or advise would help. April 1, 20196 yr comment_572368 here's my rear spoiler as mounted from the dealership in 1972. It's mounted right before the hatch rolls down. That was one of the hardest things I've done that I thought would be easy. Take the vinyl cover off the interior side bottom of the hatch to access the bolts. Getting the nuts on are a huge pain in the rectum. Good luck! Not my car but the 432 google search... https://www.google.com/search?q=mounting+rear+spoiler+classiczcars.com&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&oq=mounting+rear+spoiler+classiczcars.com&aqs=chrome..69i57.11718j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Edited April 1, 20196 yr by siteunseen Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61929-rear-spoiler-fitment/#findComment-572368 Share on other sites

Keeps the spoiler off the paint. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/61929-rear-spoiler-fitment/#findComment-572391 Share on other sites

Good point on the rubber washers Site. I used rubber “O” rings under each bolt......not only does it keep the spoiler off the paint, but allows water to pass through for drying purposes and by sealing the bolts, it keeps water out of the holes in the deck. Great minds and all that jazz... I too used small "O" rings to seal each of the six bolts when reinstalling my spoiler.
