Posted April 22, 20195 yr Popular Post comment_573972 Hey Everyone, Let me introduce myself. My name is Craig , I live In Austin, TX. I have restored cars over the years but this is my first Z. I have been a member since last October 2018. I recently purchased a 1973 240z CA/AZ (one owner car) that's been hibernating for 25 years in a AZ. garage. I am working on waking it up. She is at a shop in Austin waiting to be worked on now. The previous owner started the car and it made a ticking noise, so they turned it off right away. I plan to keep it near stock and restore over time. It is presently Blue, I plan on taking it back to its original color Red 110. Right now I just want to get the car road worthy - I am going crazy waiting to drive it. I have been reading here a lot and educating myself and will continue to - so thanks for the help now and in the future. April 22, 20195 yr comment_573978 Welcome to the forum, your Z looks to be in pretty good shape, certainly doesn't look like any rust from your pics. Even though you're going to take it back to original colour at least it looks like it has a decent paint job too. Easy cars to work on and a blast drive. April 23, 20195 yr comment_573988 Hopefully the ticking noise can be remedied with a valve lash adjustment... Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/62047-new-member-new-car/#findComment-573988 Share on other sites

April 27, 20195 yr comment_574328 Late to the welcoming but glad you found us. Great car too! It's got that monstrous Yorx a/c mine had. They are right in the way of everything. Mine's in a box in storage with the other OE stuff I've removed. April 27, 20195 yr comment_574331 Is that the AC radiator showing underneath? Probably saved your lower fascia from tow rope damage. 25 year old tires are probably bad no matter how much tread is left, be careful. They blow up. These motors all tick. April 27, 20195 yr comment_574333 Looks like a set of plug wires and who knows the boxy looking thing. I thought it was an aluminum radiator. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/62047-new-member-new-car/#findComment-574333 Share on other sites
