Fuel pump issues!

I apologize ahead for saying stupid stuff, , but aren't there some fuel pump shut off switches on these cars in case of an accident?  Like the oil pressure sender and one in the AFM?  I'm sure ZedHead has posted this earlier but I'm lazy and haven't read the whole thing.

Would that keep me from getting power to the pump? Cuz I’m only getting like .16 volts.

Yes. That's why we straight wire the pump, to bypass all the switches and $^!#. Temporarily of course. Don't leave it straight on the battery for too long, just for testing. Good luck.

But for long term, how do I go about undoing this "safety feature"

I'd guess figuring out the "faulty" switching mechanism that is causing the power cut to the pump. It spins if you straight wire it right?

Then I would bypass that switch if I couldn't replace it with a working one. The oil pressure sensor is easy, the AFM switches would be over my pay grade ?.  But I would be more than happy to help get the answer from the members that know.

If straight lining works and you can't rely on correcting the oil pressure / AFM switching you could just go with an inertia switch in your new straight line circuit to cut power in the event of an accident.
